Yesterday, ICANN finally outlined the timeline for the remaining milestones of the new gTLD program's 2026 round1, starting with Reveal Day on 07 October at 1800 UTC. This is when we will see the official list of strings submitted by the 1616 applications that were completed and paid for. As well as publishing all the so-far unannounced applications, the details of which strings are primary and which are replacement will be revealed - something which none of the previously self-declared announcements specified.
Replacement Period will be from 08 to 21 October where applicants can choose to fall back to their replacement string. String Confirmation Day on 17 November will see the final list of applied-for strings and contention sets with a deadline of 16 March for ICANN members and the general public to submit any objections.
Personally, I'm excited to finally know who the mystery applicant is for .uwu (according to the now-closed discovery.newtld.tools) along with CAM Connecting Sarl (according to tld.forum).
